The 61st ISES Association Annual General Meeting was successfully held from May 29 to 30, 2024, at the St. Raphael Resort & Marina (Cyprus). The event brought together members from various countries, providing a platform for important discussions on the future of service provision for the maritime sector and market trends.
Marcus Tan, then President of ISES, and Pepe Bris, Secretary-General, presented an overview of the global maritime market, focusing on trends and areas of activity for 2024/2025.
International Ship Engineering Service Association (ISES) members also gathered in groups to discuss key issues for the future of the organization and their businesses. Topics discussed included events they would like to see ISES participate in, ways the association can further support the development of their businesses, and challenges faced that could be overcome with ISES support.
One of the main conclusions from the debates was the perception that companies associated with ISES feel part of something larger. The union within the association allows them to achieve much more than they could individually.
Additionally, members highlighted the importance of sharing and accessing innovative technologies and products, as well as the valuable opportunity for networking among themselves.
There were also presentations from some association members, addressing topics related to their business and the maritime market more broadly. Here are some highlights:
During the conference, members approved the minutes of the 60th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the financial reports for the fiscal year 2023/2024. The budget for the fiscal year 2024/2025 was also approved, including participation in various international exhibitions and networking events.
Scott Gibson was appointed as the new President of ISES, and Jeroen Kortsmit as Vice President.
It was decided that the 62nd AGM will be held in Hong Kong, with the date to be confirmed. The choice of Hong Kong as the venue reflects the members’ desire to explore strategic markets in Asia.
The International Ship Engineering Service Association (ISES) is a global association dedicated to the development and innovation in services for the maritime industry. The association brings together industry leaders to promote best practices, share knowledge, and drive sustainable growth.
