Metalock Brasil was engaged to provide an emergency in-situ machining job for a 75 year old traditional Sao Paulo company that produces side rails, frames and structural components for vehicle frames.
The upper shaft housing of a 1600 ton press was uneven. A suitable portable boring machine was prepared, set up, aligned, secured and the housing bored even, within tolerance and surface roughness. Four threaded holes were repaired and re-threaded and a further four holes were threaded, all with diameter 50mm. To safeguard further damage of the shaft housing a reinforcement plate was designed and fitted to the press body in way of the shaft end.
The job was done by 4 specialist Metalock Brasil technicians, working around the clock to minimize downtime, to full satisfaction of the company.
