At the last annual conference of the Metalock International Association (MIA), held in April 2024, leaders from about 45 companies specializing in Metalock® repair worldwide, as well as being references in field machining, gathered in Costa Rica.
On this occasion, Paul Barton, CEO of Metalock Brasil, was elected the new president of the MIA, succeeding Boris Cvitkovic, CEO of Metalock Croatia, who had performed excellently leading the association in recent years.
In addition to Paul Barton’s election, Cason Zhou assumed the position of vice president of the MIA, bringing his experience from Metalock Qingdao in China. During the conference, it was also confirmed that Metalock Netherlands is the official supplier of materials and tools for Metalock® repair.
It’s worth noting that a highly recurring theme in the event was the importance of Research and Development for innovation in companies within the sector.
Each participant had the opportunity to present recent success stories, including the introduction of laser cladding to many members’ activities.
