A compressor maintenance company, subcontracted by a large multinational, called in Metalock Brasil to repair their compressor cylinder.
The cylinder had two cracks, located in the housings of the valve cages, extending to the stud bolt sets, each measuring approximately 150mm.
For the work it was necessary to re-bush the stud bolt housings and repair the cracks, using Metalock® Keys and Metalace® screws, both 1/4 inch, ensuring the crack fixation and integrity.
Due to the complexity of the repair of the region, it was decided to use the Metalock Cold Repair® process.
After repair the cylinder was pressure tested satisfactorily for tightness.
The work was carried out in the São Paulo Metalock Brasil workshop.
