Metalock Brasil, with a team of 17 technicians, repaired the bow of a ship in Santarém, in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest.
The ship had suffered a collision with another vessel and presented a navigation hazard. Metalock Brasil immediately sent a team to evaluate the damage and possible repairs.
To carry out the service, special logistics were set up, with the dispatch of ten tons of special steel sheets, equipment and materials, from Santos (São Paulo) to Santarém (Amazon).
A ferry and support vessel were provided locally for transport and carrying out the repair, with technicians working 24 hours a day, for two weeks.
All the service was inspected by an inspector from the Classification Society. At the end of the job, the repair was approved and the vessel was, then, authorized to continue its journey safely.
