A manufacturer of cast iron parts, which supplies various sectors of the automobile, steel, paper, aluminum, railway and other industries, contacted Metalock Brasil to carry out repairs on a base it manufactured for a 4-Axis Machining Centre. The base is the heart of the machining centre, its rigid design permitting high cutting performance and accuracy.
The machine base had a crack on the side, measuring approximately 150mm. Metalock Brasil’s specialist qualified technicians attended to repair the base, using the company’s Lloyds certified Metalock® Cold Repair process, with 1/4″ Metalock keys and 1/4″ Metalace screws.
Although the equipment was very large and weighed approximately 10 tons, Metalock Brasil’s professionals carried out this emergency service in only one day.
The customer was fully satisfied that this equipment was repaired, avoiding having to replace it, which would have been far more expensive, as well as incurring expensive machine downtime for a long period.
