Technicians from Metalock Brazil perform machining for adjustment on reducer machine

A company specialized in installations and equipment for the metal industry engaged Metalock Brazil for a machining service, carried out on the split cover of a reducer machine, in order to increase its diameter, according to this customer’s specifications.

The customer requested machining at two points on the equipment cover. The measurement found at one of the points was Ø305.46 mm. At the other, it was Ø284.82 mm.

After the machining was performed, we removed 6mm from the diameter of the cover.

Additionally, we secured a magnetic base drill on the bottom of the reducer’s base for the opening of eight holes in the machine’s fixing shoes.

In this process, 15 to 17mm were removed from the diameter of each hole, as requested by the customer.

Field machining is a process that repairs or rebuilds paper manufacturing machines, steam turbines, compressors and large pumps, presses, petrochemical process reactors, marine and stationary diesel engines, welded and/or flanged piping systems at the installation site.
